My Omnistor 2000 is a really good small size awning; it’s less than 2 metres in length but gives me the extra space I need. My awning allows me to sit under the awning away from the sun and as I have a small caravan it’s ideal to get more room from your caravan. They’re about £300 and although you can larger ones for your money, if you want a small awning that does the job I’d recommend the Omnistor.

My new awning arrived last week; it’s an Omnistor 8000. Although it’s only simple in design it looks great and is up and working in seconds. I simply wind it out attach the poles and that’s it, I’m under my awning in a flash. Unlike many of awnings I’ve seen, mine is considerably cheaper and is electrically operated, I prefer awnings like this, compared to the ones with walls, windows and curtains etc. The roof material is incredibly durable and waterproof and can just be wound back in at a touch of a button. The awning fixings on the caravan were really easy to fit, took no longer than 15 minutes, I just needed to make sure it was perfectly level.
